If you are not already aware, Fleming is widely regarded as the inventor of the thermionic valve \u2014 the predecessor to the transistor, which underpins all modern electronic technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Peter, a keen John Ambrose Fleming enthusiast and historian, is organising a series of special event stations throughout the year to celebrate Fleming\u2019s life and achievements. The first event will take place on <strong>25th April 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will be operating under the callsign <strong>GB2JAF<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qrz.com\/db\/GB2JAF\">https:\/\/www.qrz.com\/db\/GB2JAF<\/a>, and we hope to get as many of you in the log as possible. This date also coincides with International Marconi Day, so we anticipate plenty of activity on the bands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two stations will be set up, covering the <strong>20-metre<\/strong> and <strong>40-metre<\/strong> bands on SSB.
